Outdoor Living Design Trends 2019

Good quality garden furniture should stay in great condition for many years. To give it a stylish update, create a theme with attractive accessories. We present three outdoor design themes for 2019 and how to put the look together.

Pacific Dream

There continues to be a huge rise in those who choose to ‘staycation’, or simply holiday in their own homes in the UK. This tropical design trend makes this even more appealing, by bringing the exotic into your back garden. Bring together the vibrancy of cushions and throws with bold animal prints with the calming nature of soft greens, greys and arching fern fronds in distinctive buddha head planters. This trend manages to invigorate your outdoor space and make it wonderfully restful at the same time.

Fired Earth

This trend borrows inspiration from Arabian and North African design, with natural hues of brown, terracotta, grey, ochre and green offering rustic warmth. To achieve this look, opt for wooden garden furniture and complement with throws and cushions with simple but intricate repeating patterns. Collate green and red-tinged plants in complementary terracotta-hued pots, mixing size and height. Finally add outdoor stake lights with detailed metalwork to allow your time in the garden to continue long into the (desert) night.

Inspired by Chelsea

RHS Chelsea Flower Show offers garden inspiration beyond the incredible plants on display. From outstanding greenhouses to the latest tools and floral fashion, there is a cornucopia of ideas to excite every type of gardener.

Visitors to our 2019 Chelsea garden will have noted the modern lines of the Sense 6 Seater Dining Set, positioned to contrast against the gentle flow of our water feature. Chelsea is also a wonderful day out. Recreate the show vibe in your own garden by laying out a quality picnic rug and hamper, packing yourself a home picnic and popping open a bottle of celebratory bubbles.
