Grown on our own nursery
Ornamental onions are grown for their globe-shaped flower heads that give a long period of interest as they remain looking attractive dried. Pinky-purple star-shaped flowers are produced on stems of differing lengths producing a starburst effect in early summer. The leaves are linear and mid-green and will die back before the flowers appear. They look great planted en masse with grasses and other Alliums. Great for attracting bees and butterflies.
