This Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Purple Gem’ is an exceptionally notable evergreen for the winter season, emanating a delightful fragrance during the colder periods. It develops dense red-purple stems, adorned with opulent, glossy lance-shaped leaves. Starting from late winter and extending into early spring, clusters of crimson buds unfurl into petite, highly aromatic, white flowers tipped with purple, exuding a spicy, vanilla-like scent. These blossoms may be succeeded by spherical black berries as summer progresses. Well-suited for both pots and containers, or for use as a low hedge.
