Asparagus Gijnlim is an RHS Award-winning variety known for its exceptional reliability and heavy yields. A consistent top performer in recent trials, Gijnlim can out-yield other varieties by up to 25%, producing an abundance of tender, flavour-packed spears. This early variety starts cropping from mid to late April and continues right through to mid June, making it a brilliant choice for keen growers. As an all-male hybrid, it puts all its energy into spear production rather than seed formation. Plant crowns in good quality compost to give them the best possible start, and with minimal care you’ll enjoy fresh, healthy asparagus year after year. Reaching heights of 100–150cm, it’s ideal for planting from March to June and again from September to December, with harvests in May and June.
