In spring, it bursts into life with clusters of white, apple blossom-style flowers emerging from soft pink buds. As autumn arrives, the tree produces an impressive display of large, bright orange-red, pear-shaped fruits that are ideal for making traditional crab apple jelly. With its bright green foliage and attractive seasonal changes, this heritage variety, first introduced in 1875, makes a charming ornamental feature as well as a productive addition to any garden.
