Prunus ‘Pandora’ – a delightful hybrid born from the union of Prunus subhirtella and Prunus yedoensis. Discovered back in the 1930s by the English nursery, Waterer Sons and Crisp, this cultivar boasts a charmingly slender and column-like canopy that matures into a graceful rounded vase shape.
In its budding phase, ‘Pandora’ puts on a show with clusters resembling pink cotton candy adorning its branches. Come springtime, these buds burst into delicate white flowers tinged with subtle hints of pink, maturing into a soft, silky white ensemble that adds a fresh and enchanting touch to any landscape.
As the seasons change, so does ‘Pandora’s’ foliage. Starting with a bronze glimmer, the leaves gradually transition through shades of red before settling into a lush dark green for the summer months. But it's in autumn that this tree truly shines, donning a breath-taking array of pumpkin oranges and fiery crimson reds, creating a captivating spectacle.
