Prunus 'Accolade' – a delightful fusion of two distinguished Prunus varieties, discovered back in the 1950s by the esteemed Waterers Nursery of Surrey. This hybrid brings together the finest attributes of its parentage, blending the early pink blossoms of Prunus subhirtella with the vibrant autumnal leaf hues of Prunus sargentii.
With its gracefully spreading branches that elegantly arch and droop from the main stem, the Prunus 'Accolade' is a sight to behold. In early spring, delicate pink buds emerge, promising the imminent arrival of spring. As the season progresses, the branches become a breathtaking spectacle, adorned with clusters of beautiful semi-double flowers that cascade throughout the canopy. The pure pink hues of these blooms gradually transition to a soft, watercolour-like pink as the leaves unfurl, creating a picturesque scene in any garden or landscape.
