The jacquemontii, hailing from the Himalayas, is a standout in our collection with its strikingly white bark. In summer, its canopy is lush and fuller than many birch trees, providing ample shade to unwind beneath. Adorned with deep green leaves, it becomes an ideal spot for relaxation. The leaves, with their light undersides, create a shimmering effect when the breeze gently sways them. As autumn arrives, they transition to a rich buttery yellow, eventually turning to a toffee colour in winter. As the leaves drop, a captivating bare silhouette is revealed, showcasing its intricate architectural design.
While some nurseries still rely on seeding for their jacquemontii, achieving consistent bark colour through this method proves challenging due to potential variations. We have pioneered the cultivation of this tree by perfecting the grafting technique. Opting for a jacquemontii from Hillier Trees ensures you always get the pristine white-barked variety.
