Prunus ‘Sunset Boulevard’

Originally identified as a seedling of Prunus serrulata Benden at Belguim’s Kalmthout Arboretum in the 1980’s, this tree was purposefully developed for urban planting in confined spaces. Its upright and narrow structure, initially designed for commercial cultivation, maintains a compact canopy within a 3m width, reaching an impressive height of 12m.

During spring, the tree graces the landscape with a profusion of single white blossoms, delicately tinged with pink undertones for an elegant and subtle beauty. The paired flowers create a silky display, resembling a light cloud mingling with the emerging leaves. Notably, these blossoms last longer than most other cherry varieties.
