Originating from the Himalayas, the jacquemontii stands out prominently in our industry due to its strikingly white bark. In summer, its canopy is lush and fuller compared to many birch trees. Adorned with deep green leaves, its an ideal shade tree to relax beneath. The leaves, with their light undersides, add a shimmering effect when the breeze gently sways them. Come autumn, these transition to a rich buttery yellow, then eventually a toffee colour in winter. When leaves drop, they reveal a captivating bare silhouette that showcases its intricate architectural design.

While some nurseries still rely on seeding for their jacquemontii, achieving consistent bark colour through this method proves challenging due to the potential variations. We pioneered the cultivation of this tree by perfecting its grafting technique. Opting for a jacqumontii from Hillier Trees ensures you always get the pristine white-barked variety.

For an enchanting visual, consider planting clear stem jacquemontii trees in close proximity, set against a backdrop of evergreens. Introduce a multi-stem Betula keniaca in the centre to create a harmonious contrast with its rich brown stems.
