Job Description
We are currently seeking a Shop Manager at our Newbury Garden Centre. The ideal candidate will be an experienced retailer with a passion for customer service, a flair for visual merchandising and display and be able to lead and develop a knowledgeable and busy, customer service based team.

You will be responsible for the Garden Shop, Leisure and Giftware departments, leading and motivating your team, maintain stock to achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets.

The Tills and Customer Service Desk will also be your responsibility as part of the Management Team, providing excellent service and advice to our customers. You will be expected to act as Duty Manager, as required, supporting the Garden Centre Manager and Plant Area Manager in the day-to-day running of the Store.

Hours of work are 37.5 per week, working 5 days from 7 to include alternate weekends. You will be required to work some Bank Holidays.

Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Plant Area Manager for our Garden Centre, Hemel Hempstead

The successful candidate will be a skilled team leader, highly motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and able to think creatively in order to maximize sales and profit.

He or she will be a good problem solver who knows how to get the best from a team and who is able to see the 'bigger' picture.

Good plant knowledge is important, a willingness to learn and passion for plants and gardening is essential.

The position will involve:

* Leading the plant area team to provide excellent customer service, and a product range that will inspire

* Stock control, purchasing of stock and associated maintenance of the plant area.

* Working to and exceeding budgets and targets

* Some responsibility for health & safety on site

* Being a keyholder

* Responsibilities when Duty Manager to include: banking/cashing up and taking responsibility for the whole site in the Garden Centre Manager's absence

Extra hours may be required during busy periods.

The successful candidate will have good plant knowledge and a keen gardening interest as well as being enthusiastic and self motivated. They will enjoy working as part of a small busy team as well as having the ability to work on their own initiative. Some heavy lifting may be required.

They must be able to deliver a high standard of customer service and have a practical eye for detail and display.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Coffee Shop Supervisor to cover maternity leave at our Coffee Shop within our Garden Centre Bath. Hours of work will be 37.5 a week, working 5 days from 7 to include alternate weekends.

You will supervise, co-ordinate, plan and participate in all the activities of the Coffee Shop and ensure a smooth efficient and professional service by communicating with staff and customers. You will be required to cook to an excellent standard using fresh food. Enthusiasm and dedication to customer service are extremely important.

Duties will include cash handling, preparing, cooking and serving food to the required standard, assisting with new menu ideas, ordering stock, preparing basic snacks etc., and ensuring all health and safety standards are met.
