Visitors to our Newbury Garden Centre in Berkshire will now be able to find garden inspiration from the moment they enter the car park, thanks to our newly designed entrance area.
In late summer, the team at Newbury set themselves a challenge to turn a slightly overgrown patch of land into a beautiful green space that would provide year-round colour and interest. Newbury plant area manager, Steve Harrison, together with Andy Reynolds drew up a design plan for the space including all the details needed to implement.
Over a period of a month, 14 members of the Newbury team spent their evenings prepping soil, digging and replanting. They completely cleared the area of weeds and roots – hard graft in the pouring rain! – then had the real fun of bringing the design vision to life.
All that remains is a minor amount of returfing and the addition of seasonal plants early next year, ready for the spring.
If you are stopping at our Newbury Garden Centre, be sure to take a look and let us know what you think. The team are on hand if you would like to talk about any of the planting ideas or work that went into the new entrance area, or if you want to discuss any development projects in your own garden.
